Spoed carried a rope in his still-reddened teeth. When Cleo’s eyes followed it to its other end, she spotted Kyre. He was hunched over from exhaustion, his hands tied tightly behind his back, and his tail strapped to his right leg. His left arm was bleeding through his coat, and based on how the Ibari was blinking and shaking his head, Cleo was fairly certain that the blood loss was beginning to affect him. He looked beaten, dejected, and terrified, and flinched every time an overly exuberant towny threw a chunk of food at him. Once, when an entire orange hit him in the head, he stumbled and nearly fell over. Tyrone stopped the procession momentarily to pick the fruit back up.

The Major held it up for the Ibari to look at, practically cramming it into his face. “This is what you were after, huh? You thought you could just waltz into Miilan and take advantage of all the hardworking farmers who grew this food, and get away with it?” He jammed the orange onto the point of one of Kyre’s horns, and the crowd laughed and cheered. “Not in my town, you don’t!” Someone else tossed Major Dahy an apple, and he repeated the process on the Ibari’s other horn.

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. I had drawn a sketch of Tyrone Dahy and Spoed a couple of years ago, but was unable to find the notebook where I had done so. Turns out I didn't need the sketch anyway; they turned out just as I imagined them.

My favorite parts about this picture are the fruits, the bruises, and Spoed himself. The creepy people in the background was fun, but ultimately not hard at all. I hope I managed to capture Kyre's sense of humiliation well enough.
