As Loki had expected, as soon as the black dragon got close enough, the Ibari leapt into the air and over their heads. As he went, a thick blanket of vines grew behind him, rapidly encasing the group of students. Windigo snarled, reached into the air with his claws drawn, and managed to deliver a deep gash to one of the Ibari’s legs. The creature yelped and fumbled his landing, tumbling to the ground as the vines crackled closed behind him.

I had a lot of morbid fun with the gashes in the Ibari's legs while working on this picture. I'm probably happier with how they came out than anything else in the image. There were a couple of moments where I had to stop and go do something else for a while, because looking at the gashes really up close for a long period of time was grossing me out.
